On a recent trip to the Big Island (Hawai’i Island), we visited Heavenly Hawaiian Kona Coffee Farm in Holualoa. We went on a tour, tried their delicious coffee, and got to chat with the owner. It was a great experience! Everyone that works there is genuinely friendly and equally knowledgeable of their coffee.
Even more special was the fact that my grandmother grew up on a coffee farm in Kona and I got to visit one! She was very excited to hear that I was able to see what it’s like and equally excited to reminisce stories of her childhood.
The tour is free and open to the public, not to mention you can try their different roasts while strolling through the farm.
A few fun facts learned:
1. With its rich land and consistent weather, Kona has one of two microclimates in the world ideal for growing coffee.
2. The darker the roast, the same amount of caffeine.
3. Peaberry Coffee – the hype is real. They’re small and dense coffee beans that make for an exceptionally flavorful cup of coffee. The creme de la creme.
With beautiful scenic views, I could sit there and sip their aromatic coffee all summer long. I definitely recommend visiting this lovely coffee farm. You’ll leave feeling like family. What better way to support a local business than to stock up on delicious 100% Kona Coffee?
