Girl Power, as defined by Cambridge Dictionary is…
The idea that women and girls should be confident, make decisions, and achieve things independently of men, or the social and political movement that is based on this idea.https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/girl-power
A quick interlude… I absolutely believe women and girls are confident and can independently make decisions and achieve great things. I also believe men have traditionally been handed the better hand. However, I strongly must advocate equality for all. It is not that I oppose the idea of “feminism” by no means. But I much rather identifying as an “egalitarian.”
Cambridge Dictionary defines the word as,
Believing that all people are equally important and should have the same rights and opportunities in life.https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/egalitarian
It’s just one of those things I prefer and fits me – just as I believe everyone should find what suits them best.
Nonetheless, I still believe in a good GRL PWR energy – women supporting each other and lifting one another up. Only positive thoughts and energies. Never putting one another down – not only women but all genders. Keeping the greater good in mind for everyone, always.
With Girl’s Day on March 3rd and International Women’s Day on March 8th, I dedicate this month to this inspiring GRL PWR energy. I’ll be featuring a few women that inspire me.
